The Chirunga family is special to me as they are actually part of my family. My sister-in-law, her husband, and two kids are always part of our get-togethers, so it was a pleasure to take their family photos.
I’ve shot on windy days, but this day was by far the windiest. I use an umbrella on a light stand, and at one point, the wind blew out the umbrella, and if it wasn’t for the young man who ran after it, I would have lost it for good or been pretty damaged. Regardless,…

Not only were this family my clients, but also glad to consider them as friends. I’ve photographed their youngest son before, but that was as a baby. I didn’t realize until we started taking pictures how much of a ham he can be in front of the camera. Definitely helped to get some great shots…
This particular shoot took place midday, which can be challenging. However, the group was fun and patient, so we ended up with some great shots.
